Popins utilizes a technology called “volumetric video” to create lifelike 3D. Today, only a handful of volumetric video studios exist around the world. Most of these studios charge artists fees in the tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars to create 3D video experiences.

Popins offers a different approach. Our unique technology allows us to experiment with business models including charging artists nothing to create 3D holographic music videos and other content against shared revenue. Popins produces the digital assets and makes them available to smart devices around the world with a convenient end-to-end solution.

Popins are filmed in cities around the world with our mobile volumetric video studio. Artists are surrounded by 8 depth-cameras as they perform their music or other art forms. Popins films the experience as a single take, then processes the footage over the next days and weeks to turn it into a 3D asset. Artists are usually in and out of the studio in an hour.

We also produce live holographic broadcasts! Artists stand in front of 8 depth-cameras and are seen by viewers around the world through either a smart device as AR or in Quest and similar headsets as VR or soon as pass-through AR in the Apple Vision Pro, too. Viewers can talk to performers and capture mixed reality photos and videos in their real-world environments.

Volumetric Video is a technology that uses multiple cameras to capture an object in real time and then weaves each recording together through software to create a seamless 3D digital asset that you can view from any angle.

Our technology partner, Forma Vision, has created proprietary compression technologies that lead the world and enable the best in live 3D telepresence experiences. Each Popins experience includes credits for the artist overlayed in the bottom left of the screen. In addition, Popins creates a space for a sponsor, or a collector who is buying a hologram much like they’d buy a skin for their gaming avatar or other digital good. These credits are personalized based on the artists business arrangements and are included on UGC photos and videos created by fans and posted to on TikTok and other social media platforms potentially creating enormous value for sponsors, collectors. advertisers and others.

Live Popins can be monetized like other live events through ticket sales or even Cameo-style offerings or virtual VIP meet-n-greets.

Popins is committed to respecting the rights of artists and rights-holders. We will contract with labels, artists, and artist representatives who agree to clear master, publishing, name and likeness and any additional rights before we go to market, and to passing revenue on to the artist.
